Writing Pitches That Get You Hired

6 min read

Brands skim dozens of applications. A great pitch is short, specific, and makes it obvious you understood the brief. Here's a structure that consistently converts.

1. Open with relevance, not your résumé

Lead with why you fit THIS brand and THIS brief — a detail that proves you read it. "I've made skincare UGC for sensitive-skin brands and your ingredient-first angle is exactly my lane" beats "I'm a passionate content creator."

2. Show one or two relevant samples

Link your single most relevant video, not a 20-clip dump. If you can, match the format the brief asks for (unboxing, tutorial, testimonial). One on-point sample outweighs ten generic ones.

3. Be concrete about what you'll deliver

Name the deliverable: "I'll shoot a 30s vertical testimonial with three hook variations, ready for paid." Specificity signals you're a professional who'll be easy to work with.

4. Keep it tight

Four to six sentences. Brands reward clarity. End with a light call to action: "Happy to send a sample concept if it's helpful."

A reusable skeleton

Relevant hook → one matched sample → exact deliverable + turnaround → short CTA. Customize the first line per brand; keep the rest as a template you can adapt in two minutes.
